Vedic Meditation is a simple, natural, innocent technique for de-exciting the mind and providing deep levels of rest.
It is a systematic process for releasing stress. So you can be more you.

What is Vedic Meditation?

Vedic Meditation - an ancient and effective technique to calm the mind and reap numerous benefits. By using simple yet powerful mantras, this automatic self-transcendent technique helps us achieve deep states of rest that are up to five times deeper than sleep.

How does it work?

Deep rest is the basis of all action but modern life is full of demands. When we don't allow adequate time for rest and we have an overload of demands our body triggers stress chemicals to protect us. Unfortunately, this stress is often stored in our physiology, leading to health problems. This ancient practice uses specially presecribed personal sounds, called mantras which help to relax the mind. In this relaxed state the body will dissolve layers of deeply held stress accumulated over a lifetime. This restores natural balance to your mind, body, and soul, allowing you to perform at your peak.

Where does it come from?

Vedic Meditation comes from the Vedas, the ancient body of knowledge governing the laws of nature and human consciousness from which yoga, meditation, and ayurveda are derived. The technique of meditation was brought to the west by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who was credited for bringing meditation to over 1 million people.

What do you want out of life?

We can't control what happens to us, but we can control how we react. Vedic Meditation helps to reveal the areas of our lives that are out of balance. Whether it be in areas of health, relationships, emotions or career. When we are able to stop and de-excite, we make better choices. Vedic Meditation is a catalyst for change.

How can I learn?

Our courses are taught in-person over four consecutive days, with each session lasting about 90 minutes. With no prior meditation experience or special equipment required, anyone can learn this technique and experience its profound effects. We teach one course per seasons in Wollongong CBD.

What are the benefits?

Barron Hanson

I'm Barron Hanson, a Vedic Meditation initiator and UOW alumni with a deep passion for this ancient practice. I discovered Vedic Meditation while living in New York City and was immediately drawn to its powerful benefits. This practice helped me to find balance in the midst of the city's intense energy, increased my adaptation energy, and enabled me to make better decisions.

After six years of dedicated practice and two years of advanced knowledge courses, I underwent over 2000 hours of training to become an initiator and teacher of Vedic Meditation. Today, I am proud to be recognised by the Shankaracharya tradition in India to teach this technique as it has been taught for thousands of years. I am committed to sharing this practice with others, helping them to achieve the same profound benefits that I have experienced.
